How to Link Your Facebook Account with Your Twitter Account
People these days are somewhat skeptical about joining a new social network because they feel they can’t keep up with all of them at the same time. They also see it as a huge commitment since they will have to consistently login to multiple accounts to keep up with their friends and so on. Well what if I told you that you could link some accounts together in order to keep current on both of them?
What If I told you that you can now send your Facebook status updates out as tweets as well and vice versa? Guess What? You Can! Its very simple and I will show you how it’s done in 6 easy steps. First lets talk about linking your Tweets to be your Facebook Status as well.
Step 1: Log into your Facebook account and search for twitter in the search bar. When you see the Twitter Application page, click on it to go there.
Step 2: Click the “Add Application” button to add the “Twitter” Facebook application to your account.
Step 3: Choose your preferred settings in the pop up menu and then click “Add Twitter”
Step 4: You will now be asked to input you’re the Twitter Username and Password in the appropriate fields. ( You don’t have to worry about your login information being compromised, Your information is safe as the application is made available exclusively by Twitter for Facebook.)
Step 5: Here is where you choose to have your Twitter Update your Facebook Status. (Now every tweet you send out will also be your Facebook status.)
Step 6: Last but not least, It’s time to click the allow button to authorize access for Twitter to Post to Facebook.
That’s how easy it is! There are a few other apps out there that will allow you to do the same thing. There is also an option to have your Facebook Status be sent out as a tweet every time you update it as well. My personal favorite is the “Selective Twitter App.” This App allows you to update your Facebook Status via your twitter by simply adding the Hashtag #fb. Every Tweet you send out with this Hashtag included will be posted on your Facebook profile otherwise it will just be tweeted. This allows you to control which tweets you want to share with Facebook and which ones you just want to keep on twitter. This is a brilliant idea to say the least. To set that app up, just follow the instructions above, but make sure you are adding the “Selective Twitter App.”
