How To Amplify Your Brand’s Reach Online

How To Amplify Your Brand's Reach OnlineWhen you plan a meeting, you would not want your audience to look like this image, right? Well, when you plan a virtual audience, you wouldn’t want your audience to look like this either. So when you think of building your audience and amplifying your brand, you need to think of a good marketing plan to fill those real or virtual seats. In order to achieve this goal,  it is important to set attainable goals. It is equally important to have a strategic plan in place that will help you reach this goal. Seeing progress and results in a marketing campaign are the best signs of success. At Branding Personality, we work hard to keep track of our progress and are proud to see great outcomes throughout any campaign.

Celebrate The Milestones
This year, we started working with Goodwill of Orange County. We handle their social media and online media outreach. The social media aspect of the campaign is going so well, it almost became self-sustaining. Our goal is to reach 20,000 likes by the end of 2013. We are currently gaining hundreds of new likes every week by creating sharable content and actively engaging with our audience. We keep track of how to make the best progress with this. Just recently, we’ve exceeded our 5,000 likes mark (up from a few hundred likes in February), which was our first milestone to reach. As you can see, it is not just important to have an end goal, but to also have milestones along the way. Milestones are important to track your progress and make sure you are where you are supposed to be in your campaign. They are also important to see the smaller successes along the way. It is motivating to know you’re on the right track and you are executing your tactics right.

Utilize Online Media
We don’t only do social media for Goodwill, we were also tasked to create a brand advocates community for them. Brand advocates are important for any brand, because they will amplify your message through a trusted medium to consumers. Brand advocates are typically social media influencers and applicable bloggers. They join a community that frequently posts about the brand. Getting bloggers excited about your brand is not the easiest task to do. They get bombarded with press releases and invitations every day. Therefore, it is important to establish working relationships with bloggers and treat them like you’d treat any other member of traditional media. A professional agency, like Branding Personality, will have someone on the team to do exactly that.

Goodwill Brand Advocates

The Importance Of Brand Advocates
After reaching out to local bloggers of interest, we executed an event for them in the beginning of April. Our bloggers were excited to come to Goodwill and get a behind the scenes tour. They were also excited to learn about everything Goodwill stands for, that most of the general public doesn’t know about. This event started the brand advocates recruitment and we are now in the process of building up and feeding this community. Having excited and passionate advocates is a cornerstone of ongoing media coverage and that’s the goal we’re in the process of reaching for Goodwill.

Ponder Your Possibilities
Think of your business and brand and all the tactics you could implement to amplify your brand’s reach online. Depending on the age group of your target audience, having active and functioning social media is a crucial factor of any marketing campaign. If you cater to anyone up to 45 years of age, you should definitely be on social media. Then you should take it a step further and get active in PR. You will want to integrate traditional PR as well as online PR and tie this back to your social media. Coverage is easier to accomplish in online PR because space is not limited and deadlines are more fluent. Online PR also has the benefits of getting a much wider reach than traditional PR and it has the possibility of your content going viral. So think about the possibilities, and let us know if you have any questions in the comments below.
