Twitter to Release Free Web Analytic Tool
by Robert Gembarski on September 16, 2011
Ever wonder how much traffic your website is getting from your twitter account? Now you can know for certain. Twitter announced Tuesday that It will be releasing an analytics web tool to measure website traffic coming in from your twitter account. Recently, Twitter acquired Back Type, a social analytics company that will be powering the new Twitter analytic tool.
There are three main things that people will learn by using this new service. First, how much of your content is being shared on twitter, How much traffic is being directed to your website via your Twitter account, and finally how your embedded Twitter buttons are performing.
Of course this service is still in Beta testing and only available to a select number of partners. We expect to see Twitter release this free feature to everyone in the coming weeks. We also expect to see Twitter release an API for independent developers to work their magic on their own projects. With the addition of an official free twitter analytics tool; look for other services such as tweetstats.com and hootsuite.com to take a major hit by this news. Looking forward to seeing what this free Twitter web analytic tool has in store for us!

Thank you for your service.
