Facebook Marketing Tips For Car Dealerships
by Marieke Hensel+ on June 25, 2012
As we all know, everyone and their mom has a Facebook page by now. Many car dealerships are also utilizing the popular social media site in order to promote their brand and stimulate sales. However, newcomers may be stumped when it comes to what sort of updates or photos to post. Here are a few tips.
Interesting Updates
Facebook has a “wall” where users can post news, photos and updates. For starters, you could post news about the latest lease specials, annual sales or special events. In addition, you can also post information about new models that will be available soon. Remember that you can also post links to other sites and articles so why not link to interesting automotive articles or blog posts that your followers may find interesting? Topics such as automotive technology, safety tips and info about mileage efficiency will probably be appreciated. Posting interesting topics will ensure that people will continue to visit your page often.
Behind The Scenes At The Dealership
Just posting pictures of cars ad nauseam can get pretty boring fast. Why not add a more personal and human touch by taking pics of staff birthday parties or Christmas parties and posting them in your album? If you sponsor or participate in community events or charities, why not post some of the highlights on your page? Potential customers tend to have a soft spot for companies with a social conscience and civic responsibility.
Showcase Your Inventory
Facebook is a great way to display a few of your most popular and best-selling car models. It’s probably not a good idea to post a photo of your entire inventory since that would be too time consuming. Posting a few interesting shots can go a long way when it comes to fostering customer interest and excitement.
Photos Of Satisfied Car Buyers
Some auto dealers have posted photos of buyers posing next to their new rides just after the papers are signed on their Facebook. What a great way to capture a happy moment and share it with everyone!
Now Promote That Facebook
There’s no point in having a fabulous Facebook page if no one sees it. One great way of promoting your page is to link from it from your main website via a link (it can be text or an image such as the Facebook icon). Make sure to add your friends and satisfied customers and start networking away.
