Easily Increase Your WordPress Site Traffic With These Social Media Plugins!

WordPress PluginsI first heard of WordPress a long time ago, but not that long! I was sceptical and thought that it was just another fad that would pass with time. However, within a very short time of trying it out, I was hooked and haven’t looked back. Today, if you asked me what I thought of WordPress, I would simply tell you that it’s the best content management system available. In fact, I would go on to add that it will continue to be the best in future.

So, I am a WordPress junkie, and that is why I am always interested in anything that has to do with it. As Albert Einstein would aptly put it ‘The only source of knowledge is experience.’ Nonetheless, these days I have gotten quite interested in social media plugins for WordPress because they are one of the best ways through which you can drive social media traffic to your site.

If you are looking for WordPress social media plugins to increase your site traffic, then you should definitely try the following:

1.) Simple Share

This is a great plugin that can help you increase social media traffic to your site easily. This plugin allows sharing of content to various social media profiles at the same time. Therefore, if you are looking for a hassle free way of sharing media for social sites, then simple share would be the best choice for you.

2.) Sexy Bookmarks

Is another social media plugin that you can use to help increase traffic to your WordPress site. A great advantage of sexy bookmarks is that it is small, therefore they load quite fast, and they also appear well in mobile platforms. They have a wide range and this means that your site gets more exposure.

3.) Sharebar

If you are looking for a dynamic plugin that can help you link up to popular social sites, then sharebar is what you need. The plugin can be customized, and it is usually placed on the left of a post, or if a post is resized, then the app becomes horizontal so that it can fit within a site.

Personally, I have a few favorite Plugins. These are plugins that I have tried out and found to be the best of the best! Here are my top 3 selections for 2012:

4.) Digg Digg

This is a social media plugin that is also known as the floating share bar. It is a great app that enables a person to share content and posts to various social media profiles that one may have. It is great since the sharing can be done with the touch of one button. Therefore, a person does not have to keep on doing the same thing over an over again.

Digg digg also has lazy button sharing so that pages can load faster, and increase site uptime. It can hold as many buttons as there are social sites.

5.) Buddy Stream

However, if you are a twitter fan, then you can opt for Buddy Stream. This is an app used in WordPress that helps you share what is going on in your site with other people on twitter. The app usually shows recent tweets as well as comments that may have been made regarding a particular post.

6.) Follow Me Plugin

The follow me plugin is another great app that helps people in social media sites to follow an author in a site. This is a great app that can ensure that a person gets followers on their various profiles in social media sites. So, it is a great app that can be added as a widget on your WordPress site.

So, if you are looking for ways through which you can increase the traffic to your site, then you need to make sure that you try out a few of these top end social media Plugins. If you are just starting out and are looking to build a WordPress-based website (which I highly recommend) be sure to check out StudioPress. It is a great place to find a selection of the best WordPress themes available.

I’m blogging with WordPress’s free version. Will the plugins you describe above work with the free version, or is a pro version of WordPress required?

      Earl,

What do you mean by the WordPress free version? Are you using WordPress.org or WordPress.com as your Content Management System? The Plugins above should definitely work for WordPress.org, Some may work for WordPress.com but again WordPress.com is much more limited in its customization.

Nice to meet another WP junkie and nice list of social plugins there thanks.

I’ll stand up and say it – ‘I’m a recovering Plugin addict’. I’ve learned from experience it’s really important to be selective as not all plugins are created equal. A good practice is to stick with those found through WordPress extend and always check out the details & stats before you install.

One I consider essential is AuthorSure – it ensures you get credit for authorship and helps your image show up in SERP’s – which also gets more clicks for your content!

Great article, very informative and I am sure you are a professional in this matter – however I am not computer-savvy at all.
Mike can you give me a hint who can install these plug-ins you have to the left of this article on several blogs I have and also on my website(s).
I am a tiny one-women start-up and looking for economically way to have these plug-ins installed.
Should I just try at elance.com?

    Thanks a lot,
    Doris

    Hey Robert,

great read. The plugins you listed work awesome at sharing and sending pages straight to social media networks upon clicks. I didnt see the useful plugins that automatically send to twitter/fb/digg whenever you create a post. Do you have any recommendations as i am new to WP and already in awe?

    • http://www.brandingpersonality.com Robert Gembarski

      Hey Valeriy,

A good one to use for automatic submission upon posting a blog article is Onlywire. You can use the free version for up to 300 free posts, or sign up for their monthly subscriptions. Check it out at http://www.onlywire.com. They have a free plugin you can use for WordPress.

      Hope that helps!

      -Robert

Digg digg, but for a good uptime, you also need to have it monitored, using an external service such as http://monitive.com

And don’t forget about email marketing! There is a reason it remains the top proven method in online marketing. It’s personal, customizable, engaging, and you can even segment your contact list so that you create different campaigns for different groups of people.

What is even better than using email marketing to help your blog is using email marketing WITH your blog! Benchmark Email has a new plugin (Benchmark Email Lite) that you can add onto your WordPress dashboard. There, you can upload a email sign-up box to any page on your site, create short blurbs or newsletters, send email-friendly version of your blogs straight to your readers’ inboxes, and even track down the analytics all straight of off WordPress.
